We present a novel method for simultaneous joint inversion of surface-wave and gravity data in spherical coordinates. Unlike previous studies, we reconfigure the sensitivity kernels of surface-wave tomography while introducing the gravity sensitivity kernel of density to establish the objective function of simultaneous joint inversion. Due to the link between shear-wave velocity and density provided by the sensitivity kernels, surface wave tomography, and gravity inversion can constrain mutually and complement advantages. Our method can simultaneously obtain three-dimensional shear-wave velocity and density models with improving density model resolution. The checkerboard test confirms the validity of our method.
