Many infectious agents have been implicated as causative agents for acute pancreatitis. Hepatitis viruses, while rarely associated with this condition, can also be a potential cause. Acute pancreatitis associated with acute viral hepatitis A (non-fulminant) in literature has been documented to occur in the early phase of disease onset, usually affecting the younger population with a male predominance. The clinical course in reported cases is generally benign, except for a few cases with complications. Most cases have an uneventful recovery. Here we present the case of a 16-year-old patient with a delayed onset of acute pancreatitis, occurring two months after onset of acute Hepatitis A infection, followed by a brief review of available literature.
