A technique for direct laser writing of Bragg gratings in the fiber composed of high refractive index chalcogenide glass has been developed and verified. The fiber had a doped selenide glass core in an undoped sulfide glass cladding. The main features of the implemented inscription technique are solid immersion of the fiber and separate control of the focusing numerical apertures within planes perpendicular to the fiber and containing the fiber. A narrowband oscillation at 5 µm was obtained for the first time due to feedback by the Bragg grating.
