Evaluation of the impact of neurology electronic consults (e-consults): Experiences of a neurology resident clinic in a safety-net hospital

Electronic consults (e-consults) are asynchronous, formalized requests by a provider to involve a specialist to assist with decision making. E-consults are an alternative to face-to-face consultation and are a promising strategy to efficiently address certain requests for advice. The objective of this project was to examine the utility and characteristics of electronic consults utilized in a safety-net hospital outpatient neurology clinic.
