Many clinical trials have been conducted with the purpose of finding better drugs, both in terms of effectiveness and safety in treating dermatophytoses. Luliconazole cream is a preferred treatment option. However, owing to the risk of developing resistance to azoles, allylamines are being tried as potential alternatives. We aimed to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of naftifine 2% cream vs. luliconazole 1% cream in treating dermatophytoses. We found that naftifine can be safely used in the treatment of steroid-modified dermatophytoses and the molecule offers up itself as a new, effective and promising addition to our treatment arsenal for dermatophytoses.
