This paper analyses citizenship revocation in the United Kingdom. There is not an overarching UK policy entitled citizenship revocation, rather, the UK’s stance has developed over time and is codified in nationality, immigration and asylum legislation which spans from 1914 until the present day. This paper will outline the historical context of citizenship revocation development; how, following terrorist atrocities and subsequent political rhetoric, securitisation of citizenship has evolved; and I introduce an innovative although contentious argument in support of citizenship revocation.
