It is a very worthwhile research topic to investigate the effects of crack on the vibration of propeller structures in engineering practices. In this paper, responses of rotating composite laminated beams with a crack is analyzed under cyclic loading. Edge cracking is considered as a Rotating Massless Spring, then the governing motion of a cracked composite laminated beam in a rotating state are obtained by Hamilton's principle. The harmonic balance method is used to solve the intrinsic frequency of the system and the solution of the eigenvalue problem was obtained. Then the effects of parameters, such as crack depth, crack location, structural rotational speed and mounting angle on the free vibration of the structure are analyzed. The steady state response of the system is investigated using the Runge-Kutta method and derived the effect of crack parameters on the vibration response of the structure. The simulation results show that crack parameters, rotational speed and mounting angle have significant effects on the intrinsic properties as well as responses of rotating composite laminated structures.
