Writing about the world of work in the 21st century means not only writing about today's economic reality, but above all undertaking a real work of writing based on research derived from practice borrowed from the human sciences. Instead of simply presenting the socio-professional environment, the writer transforms himself into an explorer – a detective who goes in search of traces and collects testimonies. Sometimes, he puts himself on stage to testify to his own traumatic experience, such as job loss (Le dernier salaire by Margaux Gilquin), sometimes, like a journalist, he conducts a literary investigation which reveals the mechanisms which underlie the organization of the modern company, moral harassment and its devastating impact on the individual (Cora dans la spirale by Vincent Message).
