Laboratory analysis shows enhanced compressive strength and Marshall stability in asphalt concrete, indicating improved performance.
The issue of improving the performance characteristics of asphalt concrete with blast furnace slag aggregate is being considered. The aim of the study is to assess the impact of using selectively enriched slag aggregate on the compressive strength and Marshall stability of asphalt concrete for road pavements. The research employed methods such as selective crushing, laboratory preparation of asphalt mixtures, and testing for Marshall stability and compressive strength. It was found that the use of enriched aggregate enhances the deformation and strength characteristics of asphalt concrete. This enables its application under increased traffic loads and intensive vehicle movement. The obtained results contribute to extending the service life of road pavements and reducing the wear of automobile suspension components.
