This study examines microstructural white-matter differences between self-isolated COVID-19 patients and controls using correlated diffusion (CDI) and diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) based on single-shell acquisitions. Correlated diffusion imaging reveals microstructural differences between patients and controls in frontal, olfactory, and cerebellar regions previously unseen with diffusion-tensor imaging. Our results suggest CDI as a feasible single-shell imaging technique that is sensitive to distinct impacts in various brain regions.
