Development of organic semiconductors based on pi-conjugated systems for use in solar cells, field-effect transistors, light-emitting diodes, and phototransistors has become an active area of research because of the potential applicability of these materials to large-area, lightweight, and flexible devices. Another advantage of such organic materials is the ease of tuning the molecular properties, which can be realized by versatile molecular design in organic chemistry. In this contribution, we will focus on the development of green-light or near-infrared wavelength-selective organic semiconductors, which can be applied to agrivoltaics and organic phototransistors, respectively.
