The anthropic actions leading to climate impacts demand global efforts to optimize building energy efficiency. This research evaluates a proposal for a passive cooling strategy using a Vertical Greenery System (VGS) through the simplified numerical simulation method of BuildingShadingObject. The object study was a school building, mostly vertical, located in Belo Horizonte. The results showed a 14% reduction in room temperatures when under the influence of VGS, presenting an average reduction of 1°C, which is supported by the literature and demonstrates the efficiency of this kind of method.
