This article seeks to discuss the concepts of territoriality and collective memory in the Cedro quilombola community in Mineiros/GO. With the action of processes such as population decline, the collective memory of a community becomes vulnerable, highlighting the need to value cultural traditions that form its identity. Although some practices have lost space, it is possible to notice the collective memory of the community being transmitted between different generations due to the creation of common physical spaces. These spaces reinforce and encourage socialization and transmission of memories between individuals, in addition to reaffirming identity in the territory and facing contemporary challenges.
