This article presents a study on design limitations regarding Social Housing (HIS), observing approaches to flexibility, functionality and adaptability, including in the context of design aspects for resilient residences. These design elements can broaden the perspectives for proposals for adapting homes according to the real demands/needs of families. Thus, this article aims to provide an approach to the main design elements to enhance quality in social housing, based on a case study carried out in the municipality of Curionópolis-PA and through a bibliographical review. The results involve an analysis and synthesis of fundamental concepts for an alternative proposition that considers the performance of these residences.
