The traditional fire protection measures do not encompass all contemporary challenges related to risk, leading to growing concerns about safety. The proposed literature review focuses on analyzing articles discussing fire projects. The aim was to investigate elements whose co-design could contribute to the improvement of current projects and make them more sustainable. The results indicate that fire (co)design in buildings can play an important role in creating scenarios that enhance the preservation of built heritage and, most importantly, the protection of users and their lives.
