According to the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), more than three billion people are very vulnerable to climate impacts and these effects are felt disproportionately. Furthermore, there is a 50% chance or more of an increase in average global warming of 1.5°C by 2035, requiring rapid, integrated mitigation and adaptation actions with effective stakeholder engagement. This article seeks to identify social innovation processes in response to climate change, based on articles accessible on the Web of Science, DOAJ and SciELO platforms, from 2018 to 2023, selected through a systematic literature review. The results show that social innovation processes have taken place to generate solutions, involving local and/or vulnerable participants, but there is room for structured processes that broaden this participation.
