The second harmonic current (SHC) caused by the input power fluctuation in the single-phase rectifier can ruin the system performance. In this letter, a charge control with nonlinear feedforward is proposed to suppress SHC for a dual-stage single-phase rectifier with an LLC converter. The conventional charge control modulates the switching frequency by regulating the input charge within a single switching cycle to enhance dynamic performance. In the proposed control, the ideal input charge with the input power fluctuation is predicted online and feedforward to the linear compensator, which further enhances the reference tracking performance of the LLC converter. Different from other SHC reduction methods, the proposed control strategy is immune to the line frequency deviation and enjoys a fast dynamic response. Finally, experimental results validate the theoretical analysis.
