The Operator desired to keep Mud Weight (MW) as low as possible to avoid potential losses in the Brushy Canyon formation. Once passed the Brushy Canyon intermediate section they needed Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) to maintain higher Equivalent Mud Weight (EMW) in the production curve and lateral to maintain wellbore stability and mitigate influxes by applying Surface Back Pressure (SBP) to increase Bottom Hole Pressure (BHP) at the base of the curve.
