Sinus venosus Atrial Septal Defect (SVASD) is a rare variety of ASD seen in 5% to 10% of patients with ASD. This disease is characterised by an abnormal connection of the superior vena cava (SVC) or inferior vena cava (IVC), which overrides the interatrial septum. Laparoscopic surgeries result in hemodynamic and pulmonary alterations, which can be further exaggerated in patients with ASD. We discuss the anaesthetic management of a patient with a large SVASD who was posted for laparoscopic cholecystectomy in our institute.
