Pedestrians are individuals who walk in special areas such as sidewalks and crossings. Law 22 of 2009 in articles 131 and 132 gives pedestrians the right and priority to obtain facilities that support their activities. However, pedestrian facilities often receive less attention from the government, with policies that favor motorized vehicles. Law 2 of 2022 on Roads, which focuses on road infrastructure, aims to ensure road construction meets national standards. This research uses a sociological juridical method with a statute approach and sociological interviews to evaluate legal protection for pedestrians. The research results show that road laws have had a positive impact on sidewalk construction and revitalization in various large cities in Indonesia, increasing safety, comfort and protection for pedestrians, including people with disabilities.
