Religious Reforms by P.A. Stolypin and the Principle of Freedom of Conscience in the Activities of the State Duma of the Russian Empire in the Early Twentieth Century

The article examines the political activities of P.A. Stolypin, as well as the activities of the State Duma in the spiritual and ethnic spheres at the beginning of the twentieth century. A number of objective factors at the turn of the century practically forced political figures to affirm the principle of freedom of conscience. In this regard, P.A. Stolypin decided to carry out a series of religious reforms, the key result of which anticipated the creation of a political nation. The article indicates the opinions of representatives of different ideologies regarding the activities of P.A. Stolypin, and also analyzed the activities of the State Duma as part of the implementation of religious reforms.
