The hydrocyclone exhibits a simple structure yet harbors a highly intricate internal flow field, necessitating precise structural parameters and accuracy. This study commences by employing SolidWorks for three-dimensional modeling of the hydrocyclone, followed by integrating the CFD numerical simulation method and utilizing Fluent to simulate the sediment separation process within the cyclone. The investigation delves into analyzing the impact of the flow field within the hydrocyclone and the operational parameters on its separation efficiency. The findings reveal that appropriately increasing the feed concentration can mitigate underflow entrainment and enhance the quality of underflow products to a certain extent, whereas increasing the feed mud content yields contrary results. The outcomes of this research offer theoretical guidance for the deployment of similar hydrocyclones in field applications.
