This study is motivated by the lack of interest in reading of students which results in low reading comprehension skills. The purpose of this study is to improve students' reading and describe the effect of the CIRC method in reading comprehension skills. This research method is quantitative with experimental analysis form using one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques are tests and documentation. The subjects of this research were 15 fourth grade students of SDN Glagaharum. The results showed that the results of the study obtained a 2-Tailed value of 0.000 from the results of the one sample T-test, namely the Sig value of 0.000 <0.05, so H0 is rejected for Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model in learning reading comprehension based on student activity is in the very good category.
