The labour market is an area of a dynamic structure, sensitive to both external and internal factors. The aim of the research discussed in the article is to identify the sociodemographic factors that affect the level of unemployment of young people and to deepen our knowledge about their situation in the labour market in Poland. The study is based on a sample of 387 respondents aged 18–30 and uses data provided by the 2019 Human Capital Study, which was conducted by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development in collaboration with the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. The objective of the survey was to monitor skills demand in the labour market. A logistic model was used to analyse the impact of selected variables on the employment of young people. The findings demonstrate that the risk of unemployment highly depends on gender and level of education. The study shows that women are substantially more likely to experience unemployment than men, while a higher level of education increases the chances of employment. Additionally, owning a driver’s licence, which improves mobility, allows easier access to the labour market.
