Objectives The purpose of my story is to examine a counselor's experience of self-reflection on the wounds he suffered and the process of change and growth that occurred as a result. Methods Autoethnography was applied to explore the counselor's experience as a wounded healer. I described a healing experience triggered by a change in perspective brought about through self-reflection. To do this, I analyzed and described memory datas, recall datas, interview datas, and so on. Results As a wounded healer, I grew up with internalized experiences of rejection of being and feelings. Through reflection on these experiences, I have developed an accepting attitude toward my being and feelings, which gave me a more flexible perspective on my life. Conclusions My story is meaningful in that it is a counseling example that shows how an individual and counselor, as a wounded healer, changes through self-reflection.
