This research paper proposes a design for a UAV platform that carries a signal beacon, frequency inverter, and specially designed target for the Ka-band measurement and control antenna. It presents methods for calibrating the Ka-band antenna, including phase calibration, zero range calibration and photoelectric axis mismatch by designing the UAV flight path at different heights. Results confirm that UAVs with a high loading capacity and stable hovering ability can achieve better elevation positioning and thus get a higher calibration accuracy compared to traditional calibration methods. This method reduces the safety hazards associated with climbing the calibrating tower and provides a better way for Ka-band measurement and control equipment under extreme geographical conditions like forests and mountains.
