Layered organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite (OIHP) lead halides are a class of unique semiconductors that have the potential to produce noncentrosymmetry in a system by introducing chiral molecules as organic components. Among the chiral molecule-introduced semiconductors, the chiral–polar system is an even more promising platform in which multifunctionality can be induced via the coexistence of chirality and polarity in a single material. In this article, we report an enantiomeric pair of polar–chiral OIHP lead iodides that demonstrate both the polarity-dominant bulk photovoltaic effect and chirality-dominant chirality-induced spin selectivity. These characteristics indicate that a layered OIHP lead halide is a promising platform for realizing the coexistence of multiple noncentrosymmetry-induced charge transport functionalities.
