Abstract

This paper is devoted to the study of the role of the notary in the modern system of providing free legal assistance operating on the territory of the Russian Federation. The author analyzes the latest legislative innovations regarding the expansion of the list of types of free legal assistance provided by notaries. The possibility of further expanding this list is justified, in view of the actual provision by representatives of the notarial community of a significantly larger number of types of free legal assistance to the population, the demand for notarial services among the population, as well as their high cost. The question of the validity of classifying the notary as a state part of the free legal aid system is being studied.
