An overview of currently existing technologies for monitoring a mobile object indoors is presented in this article. The research was carried out as a preliminary stage to the development of a tracking system based on an existing Wi-Fi network using artificial intelligence. The article presents the main positioning methods with justification for choosing the most suitable one for the implementation of a hardware-software complex with a client-server architecture.
