Virtual machine scheduling is a key functionality in the OpenStack cloud computing environment. This paper proposes a virtual machine scheduling algorithm based on an improved second-generation Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (INSGA-II). The algorithm utilizes a tree-based encoding to effectively represent the mapping relationship between virtual machines and physical hosts. By enhancing the selection, crossover, and mutation operations of NSGA-II, the algorithm achieves continuous evolution and optimization of the population. Experimental results demonstrate that the INSGA-II algorithm effectively optimizes virtual machine scheduling and improves system performance compared to other classical algorithms.
