This study aims to assess the plastic material's contact stress under heavy-duty loading conditions. In addition to its decreased strength, plastic gears provide advantages including self-lubrication, low density, resistance to corrosion, and smooth operation. Plastic materials are becoming a better option than metallic gears because they reduce weight while maintaining sufficient strength. The strong mechanical and chemical resistance qualities of plastic materials are maintained at high temperatures because to their semi-crystalline thermoplastic capabilities. For the purpose of the design assessment and comparison research, an APDL gear model has been created. In order to make plastics a viable gear model, the geared APDL model's design parameters, such as module, face width, and pitch circle radius, may be optimized. With the use of FEA software (ANSYS 13.0), the contact stress of plastic spur gears is determined by Finite Element Analysis. In this experiment, the contact stress of plastic gears was examined.
