This study evaluated an updated diagnostic algorithm for distinguishing hepatocellular adenoma (HCA) subtypes from focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) on gadoxetate disodium–enhanced MRI. The algorithm included a pathway recommending biopsy for indeterminate lesions that could represent HCA with β-catenin mutations (which are at risk of malignant transformation) or inflammatory HCA with an atypical MRI appearance.
