The right of foreign citizens to participate in the formation of local authorities: the correlation of the individual and the state interests

The article addresses the issue of the possibility of granting voting rights to foreign citizens when forming local government bodies. A comparative analysis of the electoral legislation of the national legal system of Russia and the regulatory legal acts of foreign countries is carried out. The risks to the state security of the Russian Federation in the case of citizens’ participation in voting at the local level are assessed.
