The significance of Caribbean scholarly research to the region is evident. However, given the increasing sustainability challenges, there is now an urgency for the wider community to be engaged at the more inclusive level of “co-researchers”. The collaboration between the wider community and the academic community must be treated as an imperative if the overarching goal of research is a peaceful, just, and caring world.
