The multidimensional poverty rate is one of the important indicators assessing the level of sustainable development of countries around the world. In developing countries like Vietnam, reducing the rate of poor households is one of the top priorities in the process of economic and social development. The study focuses on assessing the main factors affecting the multidimensional poverty rate in ethnic minority communes in Vietnam. Data were analyzed with the help of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS – SEM). Research results allow providing information to develop policies to improve multidimensional poverty not only in Vietnam but in other developing countries.
