Introduction Arterial hypertension and gastrointestinal tract diseases are common diseases and often observed in the same patients. It is expedient to develop a methodology for predicting of a comorbid pathology developing for workers in order to maintain working longevity. Methods Employees (n=127, men) of locomotive crews ofrailways (experience > 10 years) are examined. Laboratory studies: a general blood test, serum concentrations of traditional biochemical parameters, the concentration of individual proteins. Results The obtained data let to develop a mathematical formula for the developing risk of arterial hypertension in patients with erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastroduodenal system. Discussion In patients with gastrointestinal diseases, an increase in endothelin-1> 0.8 mmol/ml in combination with an increase in platelets> 169×109/l, leukocytes> 7.8×109/l, glucose> 4.7 mmol/l, cholesterol> 3.8 mmol/l is associated with the development risk of comorbidity. The multiple regression equation describing the formation of a comorbid:Y = –1,523 + 0,703•X1 – 0,001•X2 + + 0,041•X3 + 0,134•X4 + 0,142•X5, where Y -risk of the comorbidity(“0” - no, “1” - yes), X1 - endothelin-1, X2 - blood platelets, X3 - leukocytes, X4 - glucose, X5 - cholesterol. Conclusion Locomotive drivers have an increased risk of a comorbid pathology, which is accompanied by a change in a number of laboratory parameters that can be used to predict the risk of developing comorbid pathology.
