Ss50-02 Co-Creation Methods in Climate Change and Occupational Health: The Eu Intercambio Project

Abstract Introduction Globally, over one billion workers contend with extreme temperatures. Further, workplaces are also being transformed due to climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. This emphasizes the immediate need to address new occupational safety and health (OSH) challenges including to co-create multidisciplinary interventions to mitigate potential adverse physical and mental health impacts among workers. Materials and Methods The co-creation process in the EU INTERCAMBIO project involves diverse end users and stakeholders, employing the double diamond approach. It's crucial to note that co-creation steps are iterative, not linear, allowing for the development, testing, and refinement of ideas multiple times. Weak ideas will be systematically discarded during this iterative process, ensuring the evolution of robust and effective interventions. Results The co-creation process will produce varied characteristics of OSH interventions and key factors, each rigorously tested and refined. This dynamic process will craft interventions to enhance occupational health in diverse working environments. Conclusions Co-creation, utilizing the double diamond approach, offers a comprehensive and adaptable framework for addressing multifaceted challenges posed by climate-related occupational health risks. The iterative nature ensures continuous improvement, refining interventions to meet the dynamic demands of a changing climate and diverse work environments. The findings highlight the significance of collaborative, multidisciplinary efforts in developing effective solutions to safeguard workers' well-being amid evolving climate conditions.
