The environmental conditions related to the air i.e. pressure, temperature, and humidity are relevant in the development of the corona effect in high voltage systems, affecting both corona onset voltage and the observed corona mode. This paper studies the influence of those environmental factors on the effective ionization coefficient and corona onset voltage, based on theoretical analysis, finite element modelling (FEM) and simulation results.
