The wall bushings of the converter transformer are often sealed with rock wool for fire prevention, but the fire resistance is not enough for hydrocarbon fire for 1 h, which leads to frequent fires in the converter station. In this paper, calcium silicate-bound vermiculite lightweight materials with a density of less than 900 kg/m 3 were prepared by static hydrothermal autoclaving reaction with calcium silicate-rich powder as raw material, expanded vermiculite as aggregate, and fiber reinforced. The effect of material ratio on bulk density, strength, and high temperature resistance was discussed. The results show that the micropore structure developed in the binding phase is mainly composed of Tobe mullite and xonotlite, and the interlamellar pores between Tobe mullite and vermiculite contributed to the high porosity of the material. At the same time, the combination phase and vermiculite interpenetrating combination structure, so that the material has a high strength. Low shrinkage and low thermal conductivity characteristics of the composite under electric fire.
