Abstract This paper presents a fuzzy PID controller for operating the BLDCM speed control system. The controller is built to address the inadequacies of PID controller in real-world applications where substantial model uncertainty and nonlinear components are present. The controller structure, fuzzy rules, and affiliation function were designed based on the current situation. A model of the BLDCM is established, and simulation tests are conducted to evaluate dynamic response and anti-interference capabilities. These tests are compared with results from both the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and the PID controller. Comparing the developed controller to the other two control techniques, the simulation results suggest that it enhances the anti-interference capabilities of the system and improves both its dynamic and static response performance.
