The Internet Addiction Relation to Loneliness Among Students

This research aimed to nd out the relationship between Internet addiction and Loneliness among students. The statistical sample was 100 students' 51 male and 49 female arts and science students in Annamalai University Chidambaram, Cuddalore District were selected by simple random sampling technique. The Internet Addiction Test (IAT; Young, 1998) and The UCLA Loneliness Scale by the University of California Los Angeles (1996) were used to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed with the help of SPSS. Correlation, t-test, and f-test were used for the present study. The result showed that there is a signicant and positive relationship between internet addiction and loneliness.
