The article explains the governance challenges and recent advancements in Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC). China Pakistan Economic corridor is an associated project of Belt and Road initiative by China. The project is a conglomeration of several projects. These projects include trade route for China through Gwadar seaport in Pakistan and several other projects related to construction, energy and business, which contribute to the economic activity. This article reviews the governance concerns in CPEC in terms of issues related to security, politics, social development, religious and financial nature. From its inception, CPEC has been facing such issues which are still debatable and need solutions. This study benefits the policy makers and governments for better decision making with regards to the above-mentioned challenges. Furthermore, suggestions can be used by practitioners to resolve conflicts relating to governance, which is expected to facilitate the implementation of this magnanimous project which has been regarded as a game-changer by Pakistan.
