Introduction. There are more than 30 years since Russia’s changeover from the socialist model of economic management to the capitalist one. Throughout this period the problem of ensuring the security of business activity was particularly crucial in the country. Repeated attempts were made to give a doctrinal interpretation to the frequently occurring phenomena existing in this sphere, but they had no results. The scientific interest in the area under research faded away around 2010. Despite the fact that raiding itself was not discussed in the scientific community anymore, the problems of business activity caused by this phenomenon have not disappeared. Business continues to be attacked by interested parties using such a means as bank raiding. Methods. The following methods were used in the research: comparative-legal (comparativist), historical-legal, analytical, formal-legal, abstraction method. Results. The author analysed the issue of legal regulation of counteraction to raiding. The article defines the difference between “raiding” and “hostile takeover”. The relatively new phenomenon of “bank raiding” is revealed, its stages are considered, and proposals to change the current legislation are made.
