Optimization study demonstrates maximized tensile strength and hardness in stir cast Al7075 composites, highlighting critical process parameter interactions.
AA7075 reinforcement with the two powders, Sic, and ZrO2 made possible by the stir-casting method was done. In the RSM, the Central Composite Design was used, and 20 experiments were conducted to investigate the mechanical properties like the tensile strength (UTS) and hardness (HBN). Three input parameters such as Reinforcement Content (RI), Melting Temperature (MT), and Tool Temperature (DT) were chosen. The mathematical models were developed to show the responses of the stir casting process for that composite material. The simulated sensor models rendered the output responses within the permissible input parameters. To highlight the pattern between input and output, contour or 3D plots were applied. The results showed that the highest tensile strength (354.6 MPa) was obtained when MT was maintained at 700 °C, DT at 200 °C, and RI at 4wt%. ANOVA results for UTS and HBN, revealing that RI * DT is the most influential parameter for enhancing UTS in the prepared composite, while MT emerges as the primary factor affecting composite hardness.
