To say presenting at the European Opiate Addiction Treatment Association (EUROPAD) conference is a feather in the cap of any U.S. opioid treatment program (OTP) is putting it mildly, so big congratulations to Linda Hurley, who presented at the meeting held in Lisbon, Portugal last week. This is particularly true because compared with Europe, the U.S. regulatory system for OTPs is inflexible, but there have been changes, and Hurley, who is president/CEO of CODAC Behavioral Healthcare based in Providence, Rhode Island, was an ideal choice. Her topic was providing methadone and buprenorphine from a mobile medical unit.
