The radicals, in collaboration with water molecules, drive the breakage of V-F-V bonds in bulk phase phosphate and subsequently form a new 2D phosphate through recoordination, as reported by Xing-Long Wu et al. in their Research Article (e202402371). The 2D phosphate exhibits superior carrier transport capability, lower Na+ migration barriers, and reduced volumetric strain, endowing it with excellent fast charging characteristics as sodium-ion battery cathodes. This effective strategy will provide a new insight for the optimization of SIBs.
