Workplace bullying, characterized by repeated harassment and negative impacts on job duties, significantly affects employees' physical and mental health, job satisfaction, and turnover intentions. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to explore the mechanisms that influence the relationship between workplace bullying and work engagement among private sector employees. Following the PRISMA guidelines, empirical studies published between 2013 and 2024 were reviewed from databases such as Scopus, Medline, SAGE Journals, Emerald, and ScienceDirect. The search strategy employed Boolean operators to include terms related to workplace bullying and work engagement. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established to ensure the relevance and quality of the studies reviewed. Data were extracted and synthesized to identify common themes and findings related to the mediating and moderating variables influencing the relationship between workplace bullying and work engagement. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting this relationship to inform future research and practical interventions in the private sector.
