The three dimensional full flow field distribution of a double-wall cooling structure including impingement jets, pin fins and film effusion holes is measured by magnetic resonance velocimetry (MRV). The flow field in the same geometry is simulated numerically using commercial code as well. Flow field results from MRV are used to validate the reliability of different turbulent models. MRV resolves the complex three dimensional flow field inside and outside the double-walled sandwich. The affecting regions of impingement jets on the target wall, as well as the interaction between the film jet and mainstream boundary layer is discussed. Flow establishment, shear layer and jet deflection regions of impingement jet inside double-wall structure are identified using measured flow field. Possible cooling mechanism in the double-wall structure is discussed based on the resolved full-field three dimensional flow.
