The Place of Ibandronate in the Pharmacotherapy of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

Bisphosphonates are considered first-line drugs and the gold standard of osteoporosis therapy. The focus of this article is ibandronic acid and its generic Rezoviva. The effectiveness in reducing the risk of fractures and the safety of various forms of ibandronic acid in basic clinical trials and the expediency of using reproduced drugs are discussed. A separate section of the article is devoted to adherence to treatment and its optimization when using various forms of drugs and therapeutic regimens. The use of high-quality generics increases adherence to treatment, allows you to expand the scope of preventive measures and, as a result, affect the frequency of osteoporotic fractures and mortality from them.
