The diameters of the microscopic anti-resonant (AR) elements inside AR hollow-core fibres can be non-destructively measured in real-time during fibre drawing using interference measurements of light scattered from the side of the fibre, but suffers from measurement deviations as the fibre rotates, as well as other disadvantages. We demonstrate an improved measurement principle based on Fabry-Pérot interference, which also allows direct measurement of the wall-thickness of the AR cladding elements. The method is therefore more robust, and provides more information during fibre drawing than previously possible.
